Sculpting Home Atmospheres

چکیده
This paper presents a demonstration set-up of a rich interactive interface in control of an ambient home atmosphere projection system, managing lights, audio and wall projected video art. The interface, named the Carrousel, is based on the expressiveness of material, form and movement and allows people to dynamically 'sculpt' a desired atmosphere using expressive gestures. The ‘sculptor’s’ actions on the Carrousel are interpreted by a central computer and translated into an atmosphere with similar expression.

Photodecomposition of direct red 81 (5-solamin) by using nano sized zinc oxide deposited on glass beads in neutral and alkaline pH and various atmospheres
This research describes photo degradation of direct red 81(5-solamin) in the presence of zinc oxide nano-sized catalyst supported on granule glass under UV light irradiation. The effects of some parameters such as various pH and different atmosphere on photo degradation efficiency were studied. After various experiments it was revealed that among various atmospheres, at neutural medium, oxygen ...
متن کاملOctree–based Volume Sculpting
A volume sculpting system is presented. The system provides tools for interactive editing of a voxel raster that is stored in an octree data structure. Two different modes of sculpting are supported: Sculpting by adding and subtracting solids, and sculpting with tools that are based on a spray can metaphor. The possibility of extending the method to support multiresolution sculpting is discusse...
متن کاملIterative Non-linear Dimensionality Reduction with Manifold Sculpting
Many algorithms have been recently developed for reducing dimensionality by projecting data onto an intrinsic non-linear manifold. Unfortunately, existing algorithms often lose significant precision in this transformation. Manifold Sculpting is a new algorithm that iteratively reduces dimensionality by simulating surface tension in local neighborhoods. We present several experiments that show M...
متن کاملSculpting multi-dimensional nested structures
Solid shape is typically segmented into surface regions to define the appearance and function of parts of the shape; these regions in turn use curve networks to represent boundaries and creases, and feature points to mark corners and other shape landmarks. Conceptual modeling requires these multi-dimensional nested structures to persist throughout the modeling process, an aspect not supported, ...
متن کاملVSculpt : a distributed virtual sculpting environment for collaborative design
A collaborative virtual sculpting system supports a team of geographically separated designers/engineers connected by networks to participate in designing three-dimensional (3-D) virtual engineering tools or sculptures. It encourages international collaboration at a minimal cost. However, in order for the system to be useful, two factors need to be addressed: intuitiveness and real-time interac...
